I love manga, but I can't understand why a school library would stock them or any other comics, since you'd think they would like kids to read "real" books to improve their literacy.

Soon they'll ban _Pride and Prejudice_ because it has "Pride" in the title and Jane Austen uses the word gay several times (albeit in her day "gay" meant "happy").

I love the mix of science, history and mystery. That and Maomao makes me giggle

By their logic heterosexual romance books should also be banned, because sexual orientation should not be encouraged, suggested or implemented. They didn't specify it must be homosexual

To me; manga are treasures. I love reading manga and for an avid reader. It's relaxing. I can't stand when people are using their personal agenda to ban certain books!

Certainly there are some manga not meant for kids, but that's why they're shrinked-wrapped in stores and have ratings on the back.
